School Refusal Training and Education Print E-mail

School refusal is a growing problem where students, often at critical developmental stages, refuse to attend school for lengthy periods of time with no apparent physical cause. Frequently, refusal can be associated with difficulties or upheaval in a student’s home life, which needs to be addressed in a holistic manner to achieve a return to school. As part of Centacare’s cool2b@school School Refusal Program we offer professional consultancy to schools aimed at supporting parents through counselling and education and training.

Topics for training in schools for administrators, teachers and parents include:

  • School Refusal
  • Developing resilience in children
  • Positive discipline
  • Positive communication between school and home
  • Childhood anxiety
