School refusal is a growing problem where students, often at critical developmental stages, refuse to attend school for lengthy periods of time with no apparent physical cause. Frequently, refusal can be associated with difficulties or upheaval in a student’s home life, which needs to be addressed in a holistic manner to achieve a return to school.
