Bequests

When writing our Will we need to recognise that times change, and what is a pressing issue for society today might not be tomorrow. It is wise therefore to allow the recipient person orinstitution, some degree of freedom in determining how a Bequest can best be used.

Rather than making a Bequest specifically to one of the numerous works or activities of Centacare Catholic Family Services, the following is an example of how you can make a Bequest directly to Centacare Catholic Family Services and nominate the purpose for which your bequest is to be used.

'I give to Centacare Catholic Family Services:

the sum of (nominate the amount you intend to give or other such provision as may be intended)

or

..... percent of my total estate

or

the residue of my estate

or

(nominate the purpose)

We would be appreciative if the following sentence is included after the Bequest:

"A signed receipt from (name of recipient) shall be an absolute discharge to my trustee".
