Centacare Catholic Family Services is delighted to present our Concert in the Cathedral at 2.30pm on Sunday 3 October 2010.

This year, Centacare is celebrating 75 years of service to the Victorian community and we are very excited to announce Mark Vincent (Channel 7’s 2009 Australia’s Got Talent Winner) and Alana Conway (2010 Finalist) as the headline acts for our Concert in the Cathedral at St Patrick’s Cathedral Melbourne.

Mark Vincent came to prominence when he won the 2009 series of Australia’s Got Talent at the age of fifteen. Mark’s debut album went Platinum within the first four weeks and he has since performed with Whitney Houston and The Priests and released a second album. Mark’s Catholic grandfather inspired Mark to achieve this success and he was motivated through his own faith to perform at St Patrick’s Cathedral and help Centacare raise funds for the Alcohol & Other Drug Family Service.

Alana Conway

Twenty year old Alana Conway was a finalist in Australia’s Got Talent (2010) and has been singing for ten years. She received a standing ovation for her haunting performance on television, where she accompanied herself on the harp. She began playing the harp when she was fifteen because she wanted to learn another instrument as well as the piano. Alana performed with the choir at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Bendigo for six years and she is now studying music at Melbourne University. Alana has been missing the choir at Sacred Heart Cathedral and is looking forward to such a big event at St Patrick’s Cathedral as one of our rising stars.

Deacon Robert Galea

Deacon Robert Galea is a recently ordained Deacon and is currently studying for the priesthood in Melbourne after beginning seminary formation in Malta in 2003, his home country. As a troubled fourteen year old, Robert was caught up in the world of violence. By the time he was sixteen, he was in a state of despair before finding a new direction in life through his faith. Robert conveys messages of hope through his music and has been dubbed "The Singing Seminarian" by local and international press. He is a singer, songwriter and renowned performer, thrilling an estimated 500,000 pilgrims when he performed for World Youth Day events in Sydney.
