Vision

Centacare’s vision is the realisation of the revelation of Jesus Christ for the world:

‘I have come that you may have life and have it to the full’ (John 10:10)

For over seventy years Centacare has worked on behalf of the Catholic Church in Melbourne to build on the vision of ‘life to the full’ for families, individuals and communities in all their diversity, but in particular for those who are marginalised in society as a result of poverty, disadvantage and other barriers to social inclusion.

Mission

Our mission is to build on that vision through:

• the provision of services that assist those in need
• a focus on the prevention of further social need
• advocacy for greater opportunity and fairer social structures.

Values

Underpinning our mission is a set of values that guides us in the provision of consistent, high quality, professional programs and services to the community. Centacare strives to maintain services that value:

• the dignity of each person

• respect and affirmation for all our stakeholders
• working in partnership with communities and other supporters

Centacare depends on the ongoing financial support of the Archdiocese of Melbourne and its parishioners.  Our work is furthered in the community with additional assistance from sponsorships, government funding initiatives and community partnerships.  We are grateful for this support and to seek to find new ways to achieve our mission through our fundraising and resource development initiatives.
